History of the theater Theater groups existed in the region as early as the 19th century. 1921 to Uzhhorod by invitation theater actor Mykola Sadovsky comes to the community, together with actors and the artist Mykola Krychevskyi. After M. Sadovsky's theater, "New Stage" under led by Yury Sherehiy, after him the "Hungarian-Russian Theater" appeared.At the beginning of March 1945, the People's Council of Transcarpathian Ukraine about the organization in Uzhhorod folk theater On April 30, 1945, the New Theater presented its first play "Russian People" by K. Simanova, artist - Manaylo Fyodor Fyodorovych. On November 12, 1945, the Council of People's Commissars of the Ukrainian SSR adopted a resolution on the opening of the state theater in Transcarpathia. According to the decision of the Ukrainian government from July 1945 to April 1947 Zaporizhzhia Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after Magar toured Transcarpathia (then M. Shchors) under the leadership of People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR V. Magar, who became the first director of the new theater January 1, 1946 "Transcarpathian Regional State Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater" begins his work in the city of Uzhhorod. In 1963, the Ukrainian Theater was reorganized the music and drama theater merged with the Mukachevo Theater and became known as "Transcarpathian music drama theater". In 2011, according to decision No. 224 dated 05/26/2011 of the Transcarpathian Regional Council[2] [Archived June 10, 2015 at the Wayback Machine.] the theater was named after the Sheregiiv brothers, a new name theater: Transcarpathian Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after the brothers Yury-Augustyn and Yevgena Sheregiiv. According to the order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine No. 1152 of 06.12.2016 year the theater was granted the status of "Academic".
